    How no-tangle is it? Well...

    Uploaded with ImageShack.us

I decided to test out how no-tangle the Dyneema Warbonnet sells is. So I cut the guy-lines for my tarp..and then made the above. I put everything together and then wadded it up repeatedly to make something that would render most Christmas lights useless.

After taking the picture I was able to find an end in there and began pulling. I was able to have the entire thing undone in under 15 seconds with only 1 or 2 moments of it getting tight. Easy as it gets!

edit: it's 6 individual pieces balled up in the photo.

If there's two ways to take my comments, assume it's the lighter and funnier of the two.

just got 100' of this works great as a guy-line, and like it LyttleBryan said it really is almost no-tangle and it holds knots great
Its better to be prepared for something that may not happen then to be unprepared for something that does happen.

If it only took you 15 seconds, you didn't try hard enough.

My experience with "no-tangle line" is thus.

    -Pull up tarp stakes.
    -Remove line from stake.
-Wind properly in a figure-eight motion around pinky and thumb.
-Secure line bundle with rubber band.
-Repeat for other 7 tie outs.
-Stuff everything neatly into stuff sack.
-Stuff stuff-sack into larger backpack or rubbermaid tote.
    -Travel great distance.
-Get home, un pack tarp to dry out.
-Discover no-tangle-line has become bird nest an American Eagle would be proud of.
    -Swear.
I have heard your confession I know who you blame
If you had it all back you'd just lose it again
Can't bank on redemption if you ain't saved
Don't bring me your tales of temptation and loss
Don't bring me the pieces of your shattered cross

I'd like to get some to try out. My experience with almost any line (I say almost because I haven't tried all lines yet) -- so with any line I've tried, I've found they can tangle. At my location we get some terrific wind that somehow ties knots in anything. I've had line tied up into perfect figure-8 knots and gigantic I-can't-imagine-how-it-happened knots. Knots knots knots. Does the no tangle make untying knots easier? I imagine that the wind can still tie knots into it, but I'd like to see how easy it would be to get the whole mess undone.

Next time don't wind up each tie-out. I just shove the entire thing in the bag leaving the guy-lines loose. Never once had a problem pulling it out.

One thing I've learned in my kite flying, where you are winding in several hundred feet of line, is that if you just stuff the line in a bag, leaving the tail out, then it can't knot up on itself and any tangle you do get can just shake out. It's similar to the idea of stuffing your hammock into it's stuff sack.

How does it bite if ya are usin prussics on a ridge line? And can ya use the same material for the prussic?
We would be one step closer to world peace, if everyone slept in a hammock..

ideally to get the best results, you would use a different material with a different diameter for your prussic.

    Smaller diameter specifically.

All this talk made me go out and buy some Zing-It in Yellow to play with.
