Has anyone, in an attempt to save weight, integrated down into the bottom of a hammock?

Yes it has been done, but the only problem is that it turns the hammock into a winter only hammock. One of Fronkey's videos shows one, sorry I don't remember which one but it was a trip report and it was at the end of the video
Lets say hypothetically if you had multiple hammocks, im sure some guys/glas here must have over 5, could you integrate the insulation that you expect for that season, so you would only use it that season.
Many places have 50 degree nights in the summertime. An insulated hammock can be used year round, IMO. Venting the top quilt is usually all that's necessary in warm weather.
I've been wanting to build an insulated hammock for some time now. Just haven't been able to come up with a design I like yet.

You could also shape the insulation on the bottom so none of it was wasted, I think I might give it a shot with a DIY hammock. Ill probably use insultex as baffles would cause lots of stitching in the hammock body =/ Not sure how nice that would be!
I've been thinking about running some full length zippers down both sides of a hammock and attaching an full length underquilt. That way you could zip it off in the warm seasons.
The zipper system might be a little heavy, but there would be no messing with suspension lines or having your UQ move on you. The UQ would have a stretch shock cord sewn in at both ends to gather at the head and foot, and could be cut to the lay of the hammock. If you lay opposite the cut, just flip the hammock over and zip from the other side.

Yes, "Strungout" made one from cuben fiber and it worked really well. Here is the thread he made on it and at the 6:15 mark you can see it in the below video.
