    I was under the impression of the Superfly having permanent doors and the Mamajamba with the option of adding doors for 75$. Please correct me if I am wrong as this will change my prospective completely. Based on my current understanding of the two it is doors vs removable doors. So I guess I should ask, for all that have the Superfly do you wish the doors were removable?

    I have the Mamajamba - love it - but!, I wish the doors were attached. I made some Grizz Beaks, but would like a no fuss route of a big tarp with doors. If I had to do it over again (and I will) it would be a Superfly.
    I got in a fight one time with a really big guy, and he said, "I'm going to mop the floor with your face." I said, "You'll be sorry." He said, "Oh, yeah? Why?" I said, "Well, you won't be able to get into the corners very well."

    Just did a bunch of research on this myself and going for the Superfly. You're correct...Superfly has permanent doors and the MJ does not but can be added for $75 which brings the total MJ w/doors price to $165 (sale going on right now) compared to the Superfly sale price of $110.

    Superfly = 19 oz.
    The MJ = 13.5 oz. (a 5.5 oz difference) but jumps to a total of 21.5 oz. with the added doors which puts the MJ w/doors 2.5 oz heavier than the Superfly.

    When not using the Superfly doors they can be folded back out of the way such as shown here: http://www.warbonnetoutdoors.com/gal...&g2_itemId=148

    For me and my purposes, the Superfly was a no-brainer @ the sale price of $110 (regular $130)

    I have them both and like them both. On the SF, I like being able to close things off when windy or rainy (I learned this after using the MJ near a river that had constant wind). It also provides privacy (bigger concern for my wife than me). There is a weight penalty compared to the MJ, but not substantial if you aren't a gram counter.

    For me, I'd still get the Superfly. If take the $aving$ from the MJ doors to put toward a significantly smaller (summer) tarp.

    Or combine both and just get a CF tarp.

    Superfly

    I would definitely go for the Superfly too. I have two tarps (McCat Ultra and a Spinn Mamajamba) both are great tarps, but as I finally learned the hard way, you can't beat having doors when the rain comes,and the winds blows. I spent an uncomfortable night at Raven Cliffs beside the stream a few weeks ago because I had no doors to block the cold damp,air. I'm either going to get the Superfly or have the door mod done by 2QZQ, either way I WILL have doors!

    Ordered the sf Thursday and can't wait to check it out. One of my biggest fears about hammock camping is insuficiate coverage in a storm. I am excited to put that fear to rest!

    If I had to choose one, it'd be the Superfly. I use the Mamajamba when I want to go light and fast on longer backpacking trips and the Superfly for everything else.
