We also have at least 12" of the solidified moisture on the ground and it is still putting out a little fluff. On top of that, Wednesday we had a warm wind which melted a lot of snow, so now we have 12 " of snow on top of glaze ice. Looking for better weather next weekend!

I got that same wind. It melted all the snow in my yard.
Now i have about 6" of new.
By Wednesday we should know if the weather will be nice for the weekend.
I don't believe anymore snow is forecast for the week.
It's paved roads all the way to the CG so I don't think there will be any issues with driving.

My tarp blew off my wood pile and everything is soaked and frozen.
I may have to get some grocery store wood for Friday and Saturday nights fire. We will probably want big ones.

I'll also bring a couple snow shovels.
We will probably have to shovel around camp.
This CG is well protected from the wind but that makes the snow leave slower.
I'm expecting 2-3' with drifts to 6' Anyone like doing snowcaves?

I'm going out to look at some new winter boots today. Last year I thought my Vasque Snowburbans would be enough with their 400 gram insulation, but if I quite moving around, my feet got cold. There were guys there wearing 1000 gram insulated boots, so that's what I'll be looking for.

The Gander Mountain near me has Irish Setter hunting boots that I've heard good things about. I figure, if they're comfortable enough to tromp around in hunting, they ought to be good for hiking in too.

Take your thick socks with you for the test fit.
Slightly bigger is always better than too tight in winter.

I love my Merrell's this is my 3 winter and with a set of gaiters they have never let me down. I do carry extra socks and change them twice a day.

Checkout these Iceclaws on sale at REI for $93.

Also if your feet are getting cold standing around try a pair of Superfeet Red insoles. Don't buy knockoffs
real HotFeets sell for about 45 bucks and really work.

On a second note the long range forecast is not getting better. We might have to reschedule for Feb 14,15,16

I'm following this site for weather.

A lot of things I don't mind buying over the internet without trying them on, but not boots. Just bought some Irish Setter Ridge Topper 800 gram boots. Thats twice the insulation of my other boots, so hopefully I'll be warm. I guess you can officially count me in for this hang.

Sorry to say, I agree with your assessment of the forecast.
Single digits at night and more snow expected.
Also, the next weekend would work better for me, FWIW.
    I will be watching closely.

I just returned from my Grandson's 13th birthday party where he was presented with a Warbonnet Blackbird and Superfly. I invited him to the hang to break in the new gear and he was more than thrilled.

He is definitely no prima donna, has been hunting and camping since he was small, and I feel would be an enjoyable companion in camp. I don't want to step on any toes, so if anyone does not feel comfortable with a youngster in camp, please let me know in a PM and I will make other plans. I feel certain that this group is the perfect group to bring him to the enlightened side of camping.

Checking the long range forecast I don't see much chance for serious snow, but it is looking like it might be a little "chilly"! (Think Shug chilly!!) I don't think it will make any difference to us if we postpone for a week, but we're willing to give it a try if everyone wants to.

    Ecstatic Grampa!

I just checked OandB's weather channel and it is quite a bit more grim than the one I checked! Wow! But it could be fun (maybe??). Anyway, these things have a chance of changing drastically (it's a weather forecast after all), so it will be prudent to wait until mid week until we must commit or not. TR42, will that throw a monkey wrench in your travel plans?
