Let me pick your brain if you have a Ridge Runner regarding views

I recently acquired a RR. I like my views and that is one of the main reasons I went with a RR. For those of you with experience and love your views, how do you accomplish this with a tarp? With my gathered end I like to put the tarp up and get all the stakes out but if there is not much of a chance of rain I will put the tarp back in its skins.

Is the best way to go to get a Superfly and snake skin it?
Double door spindrift with a diamond tarp?

Thank you for any and all ideas!

"get a Superfly and snake skin it" -- that's what I did, and it works fine.

That shows a hammock with the tarp in it's skins. Its an easy way to store your tarp instead of folding it up.

I'm all about porch mode with my tarp. Generally covers just fine except for the heaviest of rains or high wind. Gives me great views from the bridge.

+1 on hikingdad and the porch mode. If it feels like it might get "weathery", it's simple to drop the one side and stake it down if or when the rains goes sideways.
The snakeskins are also easy enough to deploy the tarp when the climate changes, just a little more staking and dialing in to do if you are caught off guard.
    I've done both successfully. HYOH.

Many of us use the ones made by Mountain Goat. They can be purchased via her link at OutdoorTrailGear.com

This would be the same for any hammock not just a bridge -

If I'm hanging around camp either in or out of the hammock I either put the tarp in porch mode or store in a double ended stuffsack or snakeskins or whatever you may have to store the tarp for easy deployment if it starts raining. This means the stakes are set and lines are set and such. This allows for ample views in porch mode or total 360 views if the tarp it stored in the stuffsack/snakeskins.

If I'm heading out for a dayhike and leaving my stuff setup, I'd batten down the hatches on the tarp. I've had a time or two I leave for a dayhike with sunny skies and arrive back to camp with it pouring buckets.

Porch mode - best of both worlds!

Got the views for sure, and protection if you need it, without having to haul *** to get it set up.
