Current owners who still hang in 1.0 robic

Two years ago I bought a hammock made from 1.0 robic . Not long afterward there were a few reports of catosrophic failures regarding that material . I have yet to have an issue. Who out there still hangs in 1.0 robic & for those that had failures was it the butt area or the sewn channels?

For those that had failures were you above weight rating ?

    Thanks in advanced

I have two DIY 1.0 oz ROBIC hammocks (a netless and a Chameleon clone) that have been doing great for me with occasional use for about a year now at 175 lbs. A third (a widebody netless) was my first 1.0 hammock; I sold it to a fellow member last year, but AFAIK it's still kicking just fine.

Thanks for the reply! I am preparing for a couple hundred mile bike packing trip & got my light 1.0 robic hammock out. After the robic scare i retired it , yet I personally had no issue what so ever . This encourages me to use it. I’d really like to hear from those personally who had the failures & where the stress tear was at

I’ve been using single layer robic 1.0 for a couple years at 220 with no issues

I have a couple Robic 1.0 kicking around. All in fine shape. Hike the PCT in 2016 with the first one, no issues. Colorado Trail in 2017 and a lot of pleasure hangs for an hour or so in the afternoon. Wife also has a 1.0 that she used on the Colorado Trail and Mississippi River thru-canoe in 2017....still working fine. No rips in any. I am 195 lbs. She is tiny and light.

    *all single layer.

I bought some Robic 1.0 XL but never made a hammock. One of these days!
