You don't need very much...Sleep system, water, a little food and maybe a insulating layer.

I tend to bring a lot more on those types of trips though, because that's when I usually test out new gear. If it doesn't work then I don't have to worry because it's only one night.
Just when I thought you couldn't possibly be any dumber, you go and do something like this... and totally redeem yourself!

The only thing that changes is the food.

Yea, if I was to leave first thing in the morning, all I would need to do is make sure I had Lunch, Dinner & Breakfast in my food bag. Everything else is already packed. & that barely changes with the weather. If the temp is going to stay above 50, the BBO & 1X stay home, but other than that, I don't change anything.

As others have said: shelter, my hammock, food & a way to carry water & I'm golden!
When you have a backpack on, no matter where you are, you’re home.
PAIN is INEVITABLE. MISERY is OPTIONAL.

1 night or 5, only food changes in my pack as well.

Like others have said, most everything, if it's needed for 1 chances are I use it daily and need it for all. I don't really carry anything I don't plan on needing until a few days in.

Sanitation actually. I like to stay as fresh as I can being outside for extended amounts of time. Hygene is not to be underrated.. over the long haul I can handle being a scrub for a couple nights but 3 nights or more and I bring some kind of babywipe. Usually it's just hand sanitizer.

I bring the usual plus a bunch of extra treats. Food, new gear to test etc.

Also, I bring my pup Kiba. She loves the woods.

all depends ... car camping i take a ton of crap.
Backpacking i take only what i need .. sleeping system, cooking gear, food, small odds and ends and socks LOL
best thing to do is get out there and find what works for you... what works for me might not work for you
it's best to make a list of the things you think you need... take them out and when you come home do the 3 pile method ....
It puts the Underquilt on it's hammock ... It does this whenever it gets cold

Usually more than I would ever need, I tend to bring new/redundant gear to test. Lil bit of food, and my base pack tubed for whatever weather it is.
