i have just put mine pack underneath the hammock on some tyvek. I have not been out in the rain yet though I will have to rethink it if it is raining.

If it's nice, I'll hang my pack from one of my tree straps. If it's raining I lay it under the tarp on my ground cloth (Tyvek) and cover it with a poncho just to be safe.

On the ground underneath me. It it rains, I clip it to my ridgeline.
One word of caution: if you're camping out west in pine country, with all the beetles et al you can pretty much count on every tree leaking sap somewhere. Murphy's law dictates you'll hang your pack right where a good smear will happen.
So far I've just thrown stuff under my hammock, although if it looks like it's really gonna rain I'll have to hang it all under the tarp somehow.
I hang my pack from my hammock ridgeline near my knees. If I'm sleeping on the diagonal head right, feet left, then I would hang it on the right side.
I used to leave it laying on Tyvek underneath my tarp, but an evil squirrel cured me of that habit. Little sucker went into my pack, pulled out my Swedish Bahco folding saw, and started carrying it away. I saw him just before he headed up a tree with it. I ran at him and he dropped it. I'm not sure what he was gonna do with it.
I like the gear hammocks. It gives me an easy catch all location. I use the Gear Box from Mac. (Couple pics here.)
It can be hung between trees away from me or on my trekking poles when in porch mode. It can also be a wind block or more like a breeze block if placed at one end of the tarp with the SEEP open and tied off on the tarp ridgeline.
*I have a hole in my mesh pocket from leaving my pack on the ground. After that I make sure I hang it up.
