My kids will be happy to play in the creek and find some interesting rocks. Daniel will probably be more interested in crayfish than gold.

    WillyB n Crew coming

Me and another dad are coming with our 3 boys (5 total), spreadsheet annotated.

We were there in December...bit chilly but we had a blast. We had plenty of firewood close by. The dirt road heading towards the TH is littered with downed trees on the side.

Let me know if there is anything you need us to bring.

    We Can't wait!

The problem has been getting the wood from where it is to the fire area, cut it down and split it. If we have better tools and enough volunteers we should be fine. If we purchase wood it would allow us some wiggle room in the event its rainy or we lack either the manpower or tools at the moment we need the wood. I have a $3 bow saw and a bad *** kabar, but those only go so far and I only intended to use such for a single persons fire for short amounts of time. Last hang we abused Catavarie's axes and labored with our cheap saws, and sometimes used a saws all. It doesn't matter to me. I just think if we all put in a couple of dollars to get a few cords worth it would help to not have to cut it all.

Ya'll got room for one more? I'm thinking I should be able to make this one.
Give me more darkness said the blind man,
Give me more folly said the fool,
Give me stone silence said the deaf man,
    I didn't believe Sunday School.

There's plenty of trees there. Come and pick out a couple.

its a national park. more trees then we could fill. we could fit hundreds of hangers and still not by full. the vault toilet may be full but not the site. your more then welcome. just fill out the ss and bring something to eat.

Out of curiosity, how does the Birkhead side of the park compare to Yates?

I know there was a group hang there a few years ago, I'm wondering why there hasn't been another.

    Is Yate's just better?

As I have not been to that side, maybe millergear, firebird, or some of those that frequent this area.
We chose yates because we could park and not have to hike to the campsite. It has a vault and many trees, free, garbage pick up. It was also central and people could hike in if the wanted. It just stuck from there. For future hangs I am sure we would be open to other locations that had similar settings.
