What up Up! I ordered the micro after seein Rip's all set up. Be interesting to see what kind of coverage it gives me. You down for next weekend? I dig that standard.

That's a sweet tarp! It should serve you well.
Thanks guys for all the info. Maybe if I can find some black silnylon for a decent price I'd like to try to make a wing or two.
Hammike, that's awesome! I can't wait to see the micro. I've been obsessed with that tarp for awhile and will deffiently have one sometime. Just got a bunch of other stuff to get first, starting with the ula ohm! Thanks for letting me play with yours. I think you'll be fine under the micro. To me it seemed way more efficient than my hennessy stock, and I've handled some rain in that before. Rip's hammock was completely dry that morning. I'm bummed I can't make it out for this one. Its busy season at work and just can't get the day off. Looking foreward to the next time around though.
It rained my first time out in my hammock. Had my MacCat Standard and had no problems other than a less than ideal setup (trees too close together). Stayed dry all night.
I made a grizz beak for my standard using the measurements found on this forum and had a hard time getting it to fit good because it is sized to fit on the deluxe . When the snow goes away I need to get out a do some more tweaking and get it to fit and I think it will when the tarp is pitched steap. With the beak on one end and my wing on the other I should be able to block out most bad weather and when the weather is going to be nice I just don't carry them. Any one else have experience with using the standard and the grizz beak together?
Nice myles. Please keep us updated on grizz beaks and performance with the wing. Do you happen to know the messurements of the wing by chance? I'm really interested in making one, or two.
As soon as the snow goes I need to get out and play with the beak but the wing/door that I made works well so that's a keeper. The wing is basically just a triangle that has three side around 50" long. The side that is attached to the tarp edge should be sized to fit your tarp and have an extra flap to help seal the edge to the tarp when it's on. The edge is held tight with a piece of bungee and the wing itself is clipped to theD rings of the tarp.
