I've taught this at the Gamehaven camp for the scouts. Since I would be donating the time, it would be easy to beat that. I think the books and materials run $30.

That's great. All that's really needed is an outdoor area with enough trees for hanging participants.

I'm thinking that late September like the weekend of the 17th or 24th would be doable for my schedule for Minnesota.

I'd love to try to do something like this. My local Red Cross wants $150 for the class.

Great idea! I hope to have my instructor cert soon. I'd be open to doing something like this in Florida.

I heard the cost of FA/CPR jumped to $90. I was unable to find WFA locally.

ETA: HA! I didn't realize from my phone that I'd responded to this a while back. Didn't realize it'd been resurrected. Anyhoo, I'm hoping to know more about the instructor cert today or tomorrow. Just waiting on the RC to set some stuff up for me. $150 is about right for the WFA if you go through the RC.

Although I can't speak for anyone else, my guess is that if there is still a desire to bring this to Texas, our fall hang in November may be a place to offer it. My bet is that out of the dozens of folks we typically have now there would be enough interest for a class.

Warm Soda are thinking for doing this during the fall hang...or some other time?

Where would I look for some type of Wilderness First Aid class? I am in central Alabama and checked on the Red Cross website and did not see anything. I would like to look into a class on WFA, but not sure where to start. I was a Den Leader for a local scout troop a few years ago, son lost interest. Does BSA offer something and I wonder if I could still take it if they did?

I would also be interested in this for the fall. Month of Sept. would be great.

Unfortunately it seems to be very hard to find in the southeast.

I live in Raleigh NC and would be interested. It would be great for all of to edify ourselves in addition to what we read in books and online. Great idea.
