Custom Marlin Spike--who will sell them?

I'm completely sold on the Whoopie/MSH/Dutch Clip method and one of the bene's is that you can use a stick lying on the ground for a spike....but I was thinking of someone entrepreneur might want to make and sell custom spikes; maybe the spikes could say 'hammock forums' on it...

Well they are not exactly custom. But we have MSH toggles available at AHE. Light and strong and fairly cheap. Been working on more colors that will be available soon too.

I still have some short pieces of aluminum arrows from which I have cut MMP stays. PM me if you want a couple of 2 to 3 inch pieces.

I've heard arrow shafts and knitting needles have been used as marlin spikes. Any other common household appliances been used for marlin spikes? I suppose anything small and light enough that can withstand the compression should work.

Pieces of Deer antler would be cool, and far stronger than needed.

those folks who shorten the handle on their toothbrush to save weight can cut the separated handled in half to get two toggles.

I'll whittle some "custom" marlin spikes for anyone who is coming to the Red River Gorge trip in late November. Just ask me when you get there and I'll grab a stick and start workinon it!
