    Sorry, Newb! Dream Setup???

Sorry, for my previous post, but since I haven't bought the HH Hyperlight yet, I think a better question would be....If you were going to purchase one dream setup (hammock, tarp, and sleep system(s)), what would it be? Primarily interested in three season ultralight camping. I live near Knoxville, TN, so I will mostly be in the lower AT.

Man that's a loaded question. So many good options.
    I'll give it a go:
Hammock: A Hennessy or a homemade hammock that is pretty long.
Tarp: A MacCat Deluxe or a homemade BlackCat tarp.
Sleep System: Speer Snugfit underquilt, JRB No Sniveller, Speer SPE.
You should consider 4 season camping. It's pretty "cool" to see how low you can go.

    Which Hennessy?

I'm six foot and 195 lbs. On the groud I sleep on my stomach with my arms above my head. I certainly don't want to be cramped, but weight is a significant issue. The four season idea sounds fun, but the weight and expense (I have a good tent setup) will probably make that one wait for a while.

    Thanks for your help!!!

If you want to get a Hennessy, I would suggest getting the bigger Explorer Ultralight. The extra length will be more comfy at your height than the Hyperlight without adding much weight.

    I'd make my own setup

I would also make my own, oh wait I already did that.

If I had to buy I would buy.

Speer hammock (I like the top loader)
    Speer Peapod
Speer topquilt or JRB no sniveler
    McCat Deluxe tarp

With this I don't think you could be disappointed. I would add a ridgeline to the hammock.

You could also sub in another JRB UQ for the peapod and save a little weight and cost.

You could also get a potamic and a Ray-way top quilt and go synethic. It would give you a little more leeway with water.
Is that too much to ask? Girls with frikkin' lasers on their heads?

Sleeping on you stomach? Not sure about that in a hammock.

Anyway, Hammock Enigneer has great suggestions. The best deal in hammocks is making your own.

i would say just what HE did, but i'm pretty sure i would go w/ the no sniveller as a top quilt.
the pea pod is extremely versatile over a wide range of temps. ...tim

I'm a side and stomach sleeper, even in my hammock. I'm very comfortable that way, you just have to find a sleeping position that works for you. http://www.tothewoods.net/HammockCamping.html One of the pictures on Just Jeff's site shows Youngblood sleeping on his stomach in his hammock. It's not certainly not out of the realm of possibility.
