    Well, so do I.
Beaver Bend it is then, I have not been there yet.
Now let's get some dates from everybody. Let's get everybody's preferred dates on here so I can get a site scheduled, besides I do a lot of BoyScout events and I'm always busy.
    Let's marrow it down!

Imo, Cedar Lake is the best choice for a group hang in SE OK, and maybe even the entire state. It is a large, well-layed-out USFS campground with hiking, boating, fishing, swimming, and turkey hunting (in season). There are plenty of well-spaced trees, the rest rooms (with showers!) are brand new, and they take reservations.
While the water is better in the BB area for the yaks I agree with the ancient one on Cedar Lake as the best choice overall.

End of summer, around here, that's late September. The weather will have started to cool down. And the kiddies will be in school. I'd say the first weekend in October.

Ive been to BB in October (and about every other month of the year), and camping spots are plentiful. We should have no problems scoring a site. You just gotta decide if you want electricity, water, or primitive.

would anyone be opposed to moving it to the second weekend of October? I would really like to go, but the first weekend of October is booked for me.

Once I have survived Summer Camp with my Troop, just to busy getting the new boys up to speed for the week, I'll get back to picking a actual date for the hang.

State record largemouth bass just came out of Cedar Lake. That's two records in two years...just shy of 15#. Just a heads up for you guys that like to fish.

I was just down there-it's beautiful this time of year.
