Rare BLACKBIRD sighted on Lake Hartwell

Well, I took my brand new 1.7 oz. double layer Warbonnet Blackbird on its maiden voyage to Sadler's Creek State Park on Lake Hartwell on the SC/GA border. This was our annual lake campout with the Boy Scout troop. The group site we camped on had a pretty good incline toward the water, a lot of rocks and roots. Saturday morning, you should have heard the whining from all the ground dwellers. You know, when you hang between two trees, none of that matters.
My Hennessy Exp. Asym. is an incredibly comfortable sleeper so I would have to stop short of saying that the Blackbird was better, but it is just as good.
However, I had the zipper mod done on the HH, on the BB, it's in there.
I added the straps and rings to the HH, on the BB, it's in there.
I love the sleeve for my el Cheapo Wallyworld pad.
Brandon, if you're reading this, I don't know where you came up with the shelf idea, but that's just flippin' genius.
I loaned my HH to one of the Dads on the second night, the next morning, his first words were, "I'm a convert!"
All the stories I've heard about the WBBB are true. Thank you all for the guidance and thank you Brandon for a fine job.
    Here are some pics.

Here is the shelf with a water bottle and headlamp.

After a beautiful day on the water, we were blessed with this.

Nice hammock, but that pillow's got to go.

Dancer and I went up to Standing Indian Campground with Doc and 2 of his sons. BTW, Standing Indian is not hammocker friendly at all. More on that some other time. We got everyone in a hammock, with the 2 kids under a SWT and Dancer and I under a SWT, with Doc under a MacCat Deluxe by his lonesome. It was like our own little Ewok village. This was a first outing for me with my Blackbird and I have to say I slept like a baby in it. I tried using the footbox as storage, ala Shug style, but ended up going to it as it's designed and was very comfy. It was laying in a different direction for me, but it ended up working out well. Again, this hammock is incredibly comfortable. A few pictures of our little overnight hang:

I've camped in the Dreher Island State Park on Lake Murray, Sadlers Creek State Park on Lake Hartwell, and Devil's Fork State Park on Lake Jocassee, always in the tent camping areas. No one has ever said a word and I haven't asked. I have reservations to camp at Jones Gap State Park in Sept.

You can't start something like this and not finish it!
I've camped in the Kimsey Creek Group area at Standing Indian several times but not since I left the ground.

Dancer is the one who handled that problem while Doc, the kids and I were out on a short day hike. I'll let her tell the story when she gets home.

WOW... what memories those words brought back. My family's summer "vacations" were always on Lake Hartwell, and sometimes at Sadler's Creek, 40-something years ago. I'd rather go to Lake Hartwell than to Myrtle Beach!

Why should I be jealous? My team's the National Champions. Again. Yours didn't make the tourney last year.

    Rainman,
It would do you good to come back and see it again. The lake is up compared to recent years and the water is as clear as I have ever seen it.
