    I cut mine with a cheap pencil soldering iron. It heat sealed both edges with a nice straight cut.

    What I wish I had done is just cut a slit from 6-12" from the footbox to about 6" from the head end. That way, you still get easy entry, but you retain the shock cord and wrap-around benefits around the shoulders and head.

    I was thinking of putting in snaps or Velcro...

    Yeah, I put some velcro on the ends, reversed the shock cord (now there's a loop through the cordlock) and sewed each shock cord end to the new "ends" of the quilt. It now works basically the same, but it would've been easier to leave it be. But, it wouldn't be able to open fully. Since I don't expect to ever use it fully opened, I wish I had done it the other way. There are pros/cons for each.

    LOL, I forgot I bought one of these, stowed it with the sewing machine, and did nothing with it. It's too cold to use it now, so I'll probably just convert it to a light weight TQ come spring.

    I am using this now. Pleasant feel and good drape. Too much of the 7oz of down is in the foot box than there should be, imo, so it could be warmer.

    I have not opened this up, but in handling garment after down quilt for comparison, I cannot think other than that the baffles here are several inches high. (And I suspect that is why this quilt / sb seems underfilled and why it was closed out by RAB, a manufacturing error.

    If I am correct, the stuff is there for a much warmer quilt:
    • Tediously open one finished edge,
    • cut off the whole edge;
    • or make about fifteen small incisions inject 1/3 oz of down in each,

    and sew the edge or incisions up for a (narrow) 20F quilt.
