    Thread start date

Sometimes I'm browsing through 'new posts' and wonder when the actual thread started. Right now it has the thread name and thread starter. Under "last post" it has date and time and member.
Not a bid deal but if next to the Member's name it had the date, it would let us know when that thread was started.
An Example would be to see this post on the 'new posts' or 'today's post' and next to MrPrez name it would have (3-30-09). I don't think the time would be necessary.
    Just tossing out a thought....

If possible, I agree wholeheateredly. I have often wondered abouyt the start date on a thread. The only way to ascertain that is to open the thread and look at the first post..

Like Schorchem stated, it's not a really big deal, just something to save a little time and wondering.

It is on the first post, but it would be nice to have it more noticeable.

Sorry for the delay in responding.

    - Yes, the creation date is already displayed in the first post of a thread.
    - Yes, it is possible to display the date in the way you are asking.
    - Yes, it does clutter up the thread view, because it adds another line. solved
    - No, it won't show up in the 'New Posts' view, only the forum indexes. solved

My question - Will you guys use this often enough to justify the extra line of visual clutter? Personally, I prefer the more simple view without the clutter, since it's pretty simple to check the date anyway.

For now, I've enabled it only in the Announcements subforum. Have a look at the index there and let's have some feedback. See below - I've solved the whole thing.

No opinion one way or the other. There are times that it would be handy, especially searching for an old thread, but no biggie either way IMO.

If it is too cluttered, could we remove the thread starter from the index, or put it on the same line as the thread starter? It is actually kind of useful to know how old a thread is/when it was initiated, especially if you are doing a search.

Hey, how about only adding the date the thread started only in search results? That is actually the most useful place for it. If you pull 200 threads or 18 pages of threads on a search, and you can see the date each thread was started as well as when the last post was, it would help you to find the thread you are looking for.

That would be ideal IMO. That is the only time I really care about the start date of a thread.
