Van Dusen Canyon road is fine for a dirt road.
I'll try to get up to HV on Van Dusen this week and let you know.
I have a old Dodge 2x truck and I've never had problems
getting up there.

That's great Big Dave! With you that's five. John Sawyer is a maybe.Originally Posted by [email protected]

If that is the case, I'll take some beer and some non-alcoholic beverages in lieu of the burgers. I guess we'll have to see as the date approaches.

So far because we had so much snow and rain this year fire restrictions haven't been a problem. But keep an eye on it.

I'm a definite maybe. I'm working on the date (and gear) any idea on expected overnight temps? (Me, 2 kids, diy hammocks, DIY IX UQ, PLUQ, KAQ,)
Is the Southern entrance to Big Bear still washed out?
If I come, I'll have a 2-burner propane stove, and a BBQ. If anybody needs it, I think I have 2 single-burner stoves (stand on a propane bottle). They're floating about in a box somewhere... I'd be happy to PIF one of them...
I'm not familiar with this camp, but it looks to me like we'll need to carry all the water we'll need, no?

Yes on the water. Not sure how many days we'll be up there but a 5g bottle drinking water should be enough plus maybe another 5g of tap for washing stuff.
Can't speak for the weather but since we're going to be vehicle dependent and not hiking, weight shouldn't be an issue.
I'll be bringing my propane camp grill/stove and an extra one as well.
...If I can clear up that weekend I'm a go as well
