    I was done! (a "complaint"?)

I was fully equiped. Had my Sil nylon tent, could set up in under 2 minutes. Was happy having a sleeping bag & pad. I slept on the ground, I was miserable sleeping, but that was how it was supposed to be. I was great at finding a flat (or nearly so) spot to set up, most of the time, never had to walk more than 5 miles further than planned . I even had my pack weight down to 28 lbs.

Then, I found out about hammocking. Yea, sure, I sleep better, don't have to crawl on the ground to get up, can set up in the same time as my tent, in more places.
But, I had to get or make: a hammock, tarp, underquilt, over quilt, etc. I still need a sil nylon tarp & probably should get a overquilt. AND, I had to learn how the darn thing works.

    No,

    Wait,

I "HAD" to get new gear, um, NEVERMIND!

Yeah I got a Cloudburst 2 sitting in my closet. I have only used it twice since I bought it.

Yup...I was "done" too, but I just sold my Hubba (used 1 time) to someone last week. I leave in 8 days to spend 6 months in my hammock. Wonder if I'll even be able to sleep in my own bed when I get back?

Good luck, Michele. I'm excited for you (and envious).

Maybe you'll need a hammock stand in your room when you get back. Might need a two-person hammock...

I have been thinking of a two person design. What if you took two DIY hammocks and sewed them together in the center. Both would have there own whipping. Like a couples hammock.

Jeff suggested something like that for a kids' hammock - wouldn't need additional suspension. For two adults, you'd need to upgrade the suspension or use two complete setups. In the latter case, I think you might be better off using two separate hammocks and a spreader bar at one end like Ed Speer does. You might be able to use tubular webbing to get a single suspension strong enough though - maybe even save some weight over two setups.

Hey headchange4u are you looking to sell the Cloudburst? What shape is it in and how much would you want for it? I take my kids canoeing and still need a go-to-ground shelter. I had the Cloudburst but we had a house fire and I haven't replaced it yet. I was thinking either the Cloudburst 2 or the Rainshadow.

I bought the Cloudburst2 used but it was never taken out, only set up in the person's I bought it from back yard. It wasn't even seam sealed when I got it. Sewn in floor.

Although I don't use it much I'm not ready to get rid of it just yet. It is my only ground shelter right now and my wife still refuses to actually sleep in a hammock overnight so If she goes on an outing with me we use the tent (the horror) . If I do decided to sell I will let you know. It's a great tent, as far as tents go.
