You're not supposed to adjust it - that's sort of the point. Having a fixed ridgeline gives you the same amount of sag every time you hang the hammock.

Now, some people will prefer more or less sag, and adjust their ridgelines accordingly, but for the vast majority of users, the way the ridgeline comes from Brandon will be perfect, and you won't need to change it one bit.

having a bit of trouble kid let me try to help ya. You see the ridgeline should have a bit of slack in it not much just so when your in it its not guitar string tight. How to fix this is by setting your black straps that you have to anchor the BB to whatever you chose up about 6 to 7 feet off the ground, depending on how far apart the post or trees you are connecting to. The angle of the straps are to be at about 30 degrees from the hammock to the tree . do not pull the straps to tight which will make the ridgeline to tight. if the trees your putting it on are around 18 feet apart then your strap will be 6 to 7 feet up and if closer then they will be lower.

makes sense i see where my error lies, i tied one end of the bird to a tree trunk and the other to a non fixed object like a rope hanging down from the tree limb, worked great for my eno doublenest but i see now where the problem would be in the bird thanks for the input

you'll get it . once you anchor the straps to two fixed anchor points (something that is strong and solid like two trees or two lolly columns in the cellar) your straps will look like they go downhill to the hammock at a 30 degree angle.
