I know someone did two hammocks with three tripods and two poles, three would be pretty cool.

    Nice close-ups....thank you

After searching all the links provided I came across this deal and took advantage of it. I'll be using all the parts in the kit for a shelter project and some for the kids to play with

Price includes FREE shipping. I liked that part.

It takes 12 sections for the tripods and another 3-4 for the ridgepole. Are you getting 2 of these sets or using something different for the ridgepole?

I'm going to be getting 3 more sets in 3 weeks when funds are available. I got projects in the works(not for the Pole Stand) I won't buy from the guy in Illinois due to having to pay state sales tax....I live in Illinois.

Got my poles yesterday. Excellent set-up and packaged very well.

Anyone have some clever ideas how to make a swivel anchor like the one shown in this link? Looking to make one for about $25.00.

Not equal structurally but perhaps sufficient. $8.99 retail.

That's a good idea. I'll have to see what the swivel part looks like on the other side.

My latest idea was to use a 2 part clevis pipe hangar. The u part with the 90 degree angle brackets. It has a hole in it that will receive a length of 3/8 threaded rod for the stake part. I have some guy wire discs that came with my kit that can be used inline under the u bracket.

That's a good assemblage concept. I'm surprised pipe hangers haven't been featured more in the Turtle stand designs for ridge pole suspension.

By my way of thinking, hardware like this adds weight, cost and complexity while decreasing ease of adjustments vs. the simplicity of hanging the ridgepole from an amsteel continuous loop.
