    Any Dutchmen around?

    Although I have been visiting this site for a while, I want to say hello now to all of you hangers. I' am living in The Netherlands and want to get in touch with hammock campers nearby. I actually cannot recall when I decided to buy a hammock. I visited the Hennessy-site once by accident, looking for camping gear and was immediately lost. At the age of 54, sleeping on the ground became a nuisance. Now I am completely addicted to hammock camping. All my stuff I order trough the internet because there are no retailers in The Netherlands.
    I am wondering are there any people (or hopefully groups) using hammocks in the Belgium-Germany-The Netherlands area, because I would really get in touch, tired of camping on my own. I am open for suggestions for locations to camp and gear talk.
    BTW, I enjoy this site very much and am impressed by all the pictures of landscapes and camping places. Want to visit the US one time ( probably after retirement).

    My heritage is Dutch/Irish and I used to love when my grandpa would give me a "Dutch Rub" on the head and call me his "Little Dutchman". I like doing the same to all the "wee" folk that I can catch these days.

    'nuther one here. My mother's father grew up in a village named Berlikum, near Leeuwarden. OK that's Friesland, a different country nearly from Holland, but still the Netherlands.

    I visited once. I don't remember seeing any trees there though

    Tjalling; welcome to the forum. I'm not Dutch but have had a number of Dutch friends who came to live in BC Canada. Their all hikers now, up mountains. No flat land for them anymore. Sadly there still in tents (-;

    Goedemiddag...

    Hallo Tjalling,

    Nou, we hebben elkaar inmiddels ontmoet op de Hiking-site.nl...

    Now in Enlish:

    Hello Tjalling,

    Well, we allready met on the Hiking-site.nl...

    For everybody: Tjalling is organizing the first Dutch Hang out thru a Dutch hiking-forum. And there are quite a few allready but not everybody with the gear "we" (espacially some of you! ) have...

    But this might be a good way to convert or at least get dome people interested. With all the replies I notice there are a lot of misunderstandings. Well, the never visited HF!

    Bye,
    Duncan.
