Actually, I think that one of the beauties of the Karo design is that you can dump all of your down in one spot and then shake it, squeeze it and work the down to where you want it to go as opposed to filling each baffled chamber of the more traditional TQ.

I think it might be a little more difficult to sew.

Check out Jerry W's or Animalcontrol's threads on the Karo TQ.

I'd link 'em if I were a little more savvy.

I'm hanging in the piney woods at the moment. I'll have a field report tomorrow.

TeeDee, JerryW, and AnimalControl already did step by step instructions. Not much
to add but a few tips.

So tips and a field report tomorrow.

    Field report for last night:

Brought the steroid quilt out for he night, knew it was going to be mild weather low of 42F, but wanted to see how it draped over me.

Coverage was good but not perfect, making it wider would have helped cause of the 6'' of loft.

Need to wait for colder temps. It was reflecting so much heat I had to suspend the head end from the rigdeline to get the quilt away from me.

Heres a link to the designs already out there.

No, not weird at all. That makes you a true cold weather loving hammock hanger. A quilt with 6" loft??? Build a matching underquilt and move to Alaska so you can get some -40F+ temperatures and you should be warm enough to hang in your boxers.

    Cheers

A matching underquilt is planned, not karo step, but differential. Need to get more materials. Plan on using a breathable hammock sock too.

Alaska? Noooo Way Jose. It will get plenty cold here in NY state.
