    There is no "best" in any camping product, IMHO. It's what works best for you. MacCats are popular tarps but there are more and more choices available every day.

    Hey, goosepepper,
    cruise the forums before asking a lot of question. No one really minds answering, but the answers may have less information than you need if you are just starting to gather data. And, as headchange4u says, there is no "best". It depends on your needs: where you camp, your goals for your rig, season of the year, etc. List what you know of your conditions, list your needs, prioritize, and start looking.

    The weight that Neo carries would be considered "ultralite" when I started hiking 32yr ago.

    Yeah, that tarp is great and durable if you don't mind a little extra weight. But, I don't think Neo carries that or his Claytor on long distance hikes when he is counting every ounce.
