Though we didn't have the number of people we hoped for, we made up for it in spirit. Planned hikes never materialized but great conversation took its place.

JayS's estimate of 3 stoves per person is probably a little low but that's just because he didn't see all the alky stoves that never made it out of my plastic gear tub.

So much good info was shared. Keep an eye on Dylan, he's got some great ideas. He's more "knotty" than me.

A big item for me on this trip was my never ending battle with condensation but we'll save that for another time.

Thanks for the good times everyone.

    My pics and a request

Only thing I can add are these pics.

Dingmans Ferry Campground is *SUPER* Hammock Friendly. Great place for families, kids, pets, canoe rides. As others have posted, "Walt" was very kind to us. Please talk this place up as a wonderful C.G.

Thanks to all the cooool hangers!

I never drink water. I'm afraid it will become habit-forming.

Anyone find a 48oz Nalgene "Canteen" soft sided water bag with widemouth lid? Mine's MIA.

I think it's harder to get people to winter hangs because of harsh weather and unpredictable driving conditions. And in Dec. you're competing with all the month-long holiday commitments.

I was the last one up, before you. I grabbed the trash bag and the empty water bottles in the morning, but I didn't see your canteen. One of us had to grab it. After all we were alone out there . Hope it shows up.

Small hangs are the best for sure. Plenty of face time with all.

Was it the one with the really salty tasting lemon-lime crystal-lite in it. Then..er...uh...nope, haven't seen it.

This was my first group hang of any size, and I had a great time. Learned a lot too. Thanks, everyone, for the UQ fitting help too. I really wished I could have spent the nights on Saturday too, even with the rain and having to eat breakfast in J.D.'s "office."

Knotty, thanks also for spotting the flaw in my whoopie. When I got home I took them apart and rebuilt them, better, stronger, faster.

This was a great camp ground too; I plan to go back and take my family next time. Great spot.
