I'm sure this must have been discussed somewhere in the past but I couldn't find it. I am switching to a webbing suspension system on my hammock and I want some one inch cinch buckles. I'm not a gram weenie, so they don't have to be UL. I know pgibson sells them, but the AHE website says they are out of stock. So what are some alternatives? Thanks.

Not sure about alternatives but I just got a set from paul yesterday and I'm happy with them. They come with a means of attaching to the hammock and seemed very light weight to me. The setup reminds me of a belt I own. Super easy to adjust. I like my whoopie slings but this webbing setup might win out for the overall simplicity and how easy it is to setup. No need to be constrained by the length of your tree huggers. And the webbing packs well too.
If you have a store that sells climbing gear near you, you could use some descending rings. They are a bit bigger than the AHE cinch buckles and you have to use a slippery half hitch to back them up but they work fine while you wait for Paul to get them back in stock.
Try JRB Triglides.

They're easy enough to use.
I have triglides on one hammock. You put the webbing around the tree, then through the triglide, following the webbing that is already in it. It's not much different from a cinch buckle, very easy!
One advantage is that after you hang the hammock, you can snug the triglides up close to the tree, so the webbing won't slip down the tree when the hammock is unloaded.

well maybe. If I were to use descending rings, do they hold well if you tie a slippery half hitch?
Rings work great, but they do need the half hitch to be secure. They are a bit bigger but we have them in lots of colors
Buckles should be back in stock in a week or two at the most. We flew through the last 100 in 4 days. More will be available soon....promise.
