    11' Double Layer

On a budget, but figured I'd put out a feeler anyway.

I'm looking for a double layer tablecloth-type hammock (double layer so it will accept a pad) that's 11' long. Doesn't need whoopies or any type of suspension...just the sewn hammock itself.

If you've gone one you can part with for a reasonable price, pm me.

    Thanks!

A single layer with a Knotty Mod will hold a pad just fine. Have used one in my 11' BIAS and in a couple of DIY hammocks that I have made. No big deal to sew another layer on to a DIY if you really want the additional weight.

    I have something...

...you might be interested in. DL polyester (I think from WW) Only 10' long though. Gathered end. Really strong hammock. Color light grey. PM if interested.

    No, mines a single layer.

But I'm about to order polester material to make one, 126" x 60". Should be lighter than the Taffeta ones. I can make one for you also if you like. Gathered end with any side "Pull" you like (mine are 4" like a Speer). Either a webbing strap suspension or a simple line loop tie off, both use a sheet bend to tie the ends. My seamstress (Mrs. Millergear) needs some compensation so $55 w/suspention, $45 w/o. Includes shipping.

Still need to determine where to sew the 2 layers together to for the pocket(s). Appreciate some help with that!

    PM if you are interested.
I THOUGHT GETTING OLDER WOULD TAKE MUCH LONGER.

My problem isn't that it won't hold a pad, but rather every time I move, the pad shifts if I don't have a layer between me and the pad.

Levitation helps. Takes a long time to learn, but I'm old.
I think the Knotty Mod may work for me because I'm also not very big at 5'9" and less than 150#. When I lie down in the 11 footer, I tend to create a small pocket that I drop into. The pad did not work for me in smaller hammocks. I believe you are a tad larger than I am.

I made an 11 footer double layer out of 1.9 ripstop. It's my loaner and the one that I hope to lure my husband into hammock camping with me. If I make it to Rev's frozen butt hang you can take a look. I'm wanting to get either a DL BIA WW or a WL Lite Owl.
Keep movin', keep believing and enjoy the journey!

If I don't have one by then, that'd be great! I hope you make it to the FBH regardless.

I've realized that the ENO DoubleNest I started with is good, but at 6'4" a longer hammock is the way to go. I got my brother a tablecloth hammock for Christmas and I've fallen in love with it, so it's time for me to get something comparable.
