    A Noobs hello....

    Hello from Central Oregon.
Started lookin into tarp camping on Youtube and then I progressed to the hammock. Sounds like it's much easier on a guys back.
I am 6'4" and around 250 lbs so I am buying stuff that will hold my big azz up. Watchin the weight of my stuff but not overly worried about how much I carry.
I have a Kammok hammock (450 lb rated or so they claim), and their Python straps. Just bought a UQ today on ebay from High Country Trail. Hennessy hexfly tarp and some other odds and ends.
Can't wait for the snow to melt some so I can get up to my wilderness stompin grounds. Need to try out this stuff and see if it's all gonna work out ok. I been reading The Ultimate Hang and watchin Shugs videos. Those have been a big help.
I am sure I will be askin some questions soon so I will see ya all laters.

    Welcome aboard.

Sounds like you've gone full bore into this lovely way to spend time the woods. Nothing like just jumping head first into the deep end over testing the water with your big toe.

    Welcome!

I pretty much did the same thing. I was looking for tarp patterns when I came across some of Shug's videos. I did eventually make a tarp, but I had to make a couple of hammocks first.

    Smile Welcome!

You are going to love this place.

Sounds like a great rig, and Oregon is one place I have got to get into before too long. (Montana, Wyoming, and Washington kinda got in the way...)

    Enjoy!
