+1 to Shugs last video. That's all I've seen on them, it pretty much answered all my questions.

That would be my " Polar Pod " in Shug's video. Used it last year as a stock pod and with supplement insullation took it down to a -19F. It's nominally rated to 10 degrees. I've overstuffed mine 22 oz. of 850 down fill. I've also added a suspension system to it and in the process of creating a venting tube.

So stock, before adding 22 oz of down, you took it to minus 19F, correct? What was the supplemental insulation you used to do that, or was that after adding the 22 oz? What hammock was it around?

Before you added the down, did you ever see how far you could push it all by itself, or maybe with just puffy clothing supplementation? Just curious, like the OP, about the experiences of the few that have them. Of course I have plenty of Pea Pod experience, but I've always wondered about the big boy.

Hammock used was the Exped Scout Combi flipped upside down. Supplemental insulation included clothing system (merino wool base layer,Swedish military wool pants, wool sweater, Go-lite Inferno Parka, German military synthetic insulated pants. 20 deg. TQ. Molly Mac Canvas Sock. This was stock pod and took it down to -19F.

On the SHT w/TZ backpacking used same hammock, clothing system(base layer, merino wool snowboarding shorts, swedish wool leggings, german synthetic ins. pants, 20 deg. TQ,GL Inferno parks, canvas sock, no tarp. Stock pod and went down to a -7F.

    Hope that helps.
