Exclamation Waterproof quilt & waterproof down

As a winter camper condensation becomes an issue. Anybody had experience with the waterproof border on quilts or waterproof down?

An Underground Quilt set arrived today using Resist Down.
I'll get my first experience with it in 9 days in the Savage Gulf.
I chose the new down primarily because of a minor allergy to down
and the company at least mentions its hypoallergenicity. I've been
using a sock for quite a while now and condensation for me hasn't been
much of an issue but I'm a dry breather and simply don't perspire much anyway,
but if it becomes and issue or dealing with a rolling fog again (which wetted everything)
then this down may prove handy.

I have the Resist Down in my winter quilts from Underground Quilts.

I don't notice any frost build-up on the quilts. However, I have seen frost on my hammock, on the sides (from my breath) and bottom (after I got out of the hammock). If I use the over cover, there is almost always frost on the cover.

I haven't noticed any loss in loft. It would be interesting to weigh them and measure the loft on them them before and after, but I haven't bothered to try it yet.

    Dridown Jacket

Found this awhile back, not a quilt but has to do with Sierra Designs version of the waterproof down, Dridown.

    enlightened equipment quilts

Also Tim Marshall with enlightned equpiment has a cuben quilt that technincally is waterproof other than seams. He is designing the new ones to have a type of hand pump built into the fabric to help loft the down do to the non-breatheable nature of the cuben fiber

You got your quilts before I got my wife's quilt?????? I guess seniority has its prevaliges on this forum. And I have boughten alot of quilts off Paul too. Now we know who has the pull around this forum.

Now,,after all the sarcasum..Way to go MedicineMan,,I will be looking for a report on the resist down quilts you got as I know you will like them. Have a great time at Savage Gulf as I know you and Poof will,,,I will be jumping around the Midwest that weekend like a jumping bean and if it snows will have the snow chains with me as doing 1000 miles or so on a site visit of a new trade show while you are out playing and enjoying life. I am envious.

Well if it gets worse then this might be my only option. I could start a low dose Claritin but you know if you work at McDonalds how many Big Macs you would want to eat. I sleep under/in down 365 days a year. I probably should just enjoy it when I'm hiking.
Of course there is always homeopathy and actually ingesting a very dilute down.

I am totally agree with you.You are 100% good here that Tim Marshall with enlightned equpiment has a cuben cover that technincally is water resistant other than seams.

I ended up with a Big Agnes Fish Hawk which is hydrophobic down. Also got a dowmat for my WBRR so I wont have to be so cautious about my insulation. Love down by there've been times where I'm constantly checking to make sure I'm not breathing here or not touching anything there. For shoulder seasons in the Eastern Woodlands, hydrophobic down can only be good.
