Forget the 10 mile days. Out'N'Back and I thought that more people would be interested if we took four days to hike to Breckenridge. Now 7 mile days.

    Bring books and booze.

This sounds great food. I'm all about the journey not so much the destination.

That was hardly fast - you should hike with Just Jeff sometime

Even if it were fast, we had two miles to cover, and unlike SOME people, I wasn't dragging a half ton of gear across asphalt

That image still pops into my brain on occasion. Gets a giggle out of me every time.

If I would have known just how much firewood collecting energy JJ brings to a hang I would not have lugged (pulked) firewood across the asphalt from the car.

waddy and I have been swapping emails discussing pack lists and such.
I know for me, getting the weight out of the pack will really improve my time on the trail.

Thought I'd share a shot or two of the cookkit and menu I've put together for this trip.

Snowpeak Ti 850ml cookpot with lid/potholder,
MBD Atomic alky stove, wire stand, Al windscreen.
    MBD QMH pot/cup
    Plastic coffee cup
    Plastic spork

    HawkeVittles...Yum!

I just ordered some Hawk Vittles. Looks like they have a good selection.

    Food,
Since you have been on a lot of this trail. Can you remember if there were water sources along the way? Streams, run off, snow in the shade to melt?

Per the Colorado Trail Data book:

    We start at mile 6.0.

    There is water at:

    11.7 Maybe 1st night

    17.1

    19.7 Maybe 2nd night

    20.1

    26.1

    28.8 Maybe 3rd night

    32.4 Highway 9

Yes the advantage of doing it earlier rather than later is there should be more water. Might even be sloppy in places.
