The long planned for journey begins.......... On Monday May 10.
Off to the Linville Gorge Wilderness go Hickery and Shug ... old friends from boyhood. Hickery was Best Man at Shug's Nuptials..... boy scouts together.....football.... wild days buddies!
Never knew that we did so much singin' when we are joyful in the woods.
What a time. We felt strong and confident with each other watching out for the other.......
The Linville Gorge will break your little heart at times! Then for all the pain ..... a glorious reward is given.

Excellent video diary, Shug & Hickery! You really captured the wildness of the weather and the terrain. Looks like an early start is a good thing on the ridge from Spence to Shortoff... perhaps with a more modest breakfast!

I haven't been down that way in 30 years. Probably wouldn't recognize it, since the fire passed through.

You and Hickery really need to take this show on the road making singing documentaries. I really think you could sell this stuff. Nothing else like it out there. If I weren't at work I'd watch it over and over. I guess 3 times is enough for now. Better get back to work!
