I'm thinking about coming down for this trip. Is there any bear activity in this area? I'd sure be happy to leave that heavy Ursack at home.
Thanks,
Jerry

IDK if there are bears but i had planned on string my food high up into a tree. http://www.outdooralabama.com/huntin...truthbears.cfm Found this article which leads me to think they shouldn't be an issue.
If you don't try due to fear of failure you've already failed due to fear.

Any input on the best route from I59? I'll be coming from Trussville near Birmingham.

Thanks guys! The Ursack is staying home this trip.
I'll be there sometime Friday morning. I'll park on the TN side and make my way down to camp.
I'll be heading out Sunday morning for the drive to Memphis for a visit with my sister. This is a dual-purpose trip for me.

Yeah I tend to do that when I find a hobby I want to pick up. I dropped a couple grand on glassblowing equipment back in college. Taught myself how to blow pipes and sold them at keggers. Now that stuff is sitting in my garage gathering dust. I'm hoping I rock climb for a long time.

Looks as if I will not be able to leave until late tomorrow afternoon or even possibly Saturday morning. In that case I will be coming from the Alabama side and my car will be available Sunday morning for shuttle service to the Tennessee trailhead. See y'all there and save me two trees.
Ya'll got room for one more....
