Anyone have a DD Hammock's Underblanket?

I realize they are not lightweight, but look like a viable option for a synthetic
full length UQ.The price seems good,$95 shipped to USA.Anyone have one
of these and care to comment?Looking at synthetics as my down winter gear
I'll be DIY'ing since I already have 2# of premium down and lots of good
downproof fabrics.Just want a synthetic to play with for now.
    Thanks for any insight.

Sorry,I just realized they have their own spot in the
    Vender's forums.

From what I've seen on reviews they look good, I'll be picking up 2 for my wife and I towards the end of the summer (Texas, no need for them yet)

The hammock I have came from tenth wonder and the lable says its made by DD. Mine is short but there is plenty of fabric. i actually love the fabric (though not the lightest option, its strong) The suspension needed modification - i think they now sell whoopies - but what I like is that the fabric seems to reduce the harsh tight spots of a gathered end Hammock a little. Its no blackbird but many of us in the UK trust DD. They have a great reputation here. Don't talk ultralight with the average UK bushcrafter though most use the fantastic DD tarp. It stands up to a lot.

From my standpoint, there are many items to go UL with but I believe some things that provide wamth and shelter cannot be skimped on, either in price or strength, so you have to weigh this up to suit your own needs. You get what you pay for usually; the exception being DD, who's workmanship is great but the materials are selected with durability in mind.

for 100$ you could get a kaq jarbidge that weights 20 oz. and is rated to 25. just something to consider.

Why carry more weight than necessary, especially if there are options that are warmer and cost about the same? I can understand Europeans buying the underblanket, since we don't have much choice for that kind of money, but in the US there are definitely better options.

True... But the DD is a full length u/q and rated to - 15 Celsius which is what... 5° F. Now I don't know how accurate that is, but I wouldn't say that and the jarbridge are apples to apples

Not everything is about weight and packable size. The DD looks like a good solution. My GT ultralight fits my trucks lumber rack but needs insulation. Not going to leave my down underquilts in truck!

If this is the same as their snugpak uq they had before, I've used it. Bought it to try before I was sure I wanted to shell out for a down quilt. Works perfectly fine, but it is indeed slightly heavy when you hold a hammockgear incubator in one hand and that one in the other... Perfectly fine piece of kit, used it not in minus degrees but have no doubt it would have carried me down into it no problem.

I already have a Jarbidge for summer, the one season version.I'll make
my own lightweight down stuff for the cold seasons.Just was curious about
the quality of the DD stuff.Already finding out I don't care for the short
    quilts.

I received mine today. I have not really had an opportunity to inspect it. I did contact DD Hammocks and inquire about the synthetic insulation they use. DD Hammock responded fairly promptly that they are using is a "synthetic floss silk". I have no clue what this means. They did not provide a manufacturer's name or brand name for the synthetic insulation ( i asked if it was like Climashield, which it does not sound it is like - but i could be mistaken). I will write back and inquire if there is a brand name for the "synthetic floss silk" insulation.
