Bump! I'm hoping recent snow is a good omen for our Feb hang.

Potter county is at 1 to 2 feet depending on where the wind blew. Its all fluff and the ground is still warm so its settling down. Waiting for the buck hunting season to end today and am planning on camping this coming weekend Dec 18th & 19th. Have the Feb hang on the calendar. Hope to make it.

GPS Coordinates will be coming. I spoke with another member last night Dave can't think of his user name off hand. We are going to walk around again in January I noticed on map parking is limited at the one trail head in winter so we may start on other end which is to be better so we can either drop a car or 2 at one end to shuttle or do a short road hike back to our cars at the end. Also Pappabear suggested a group meal first night which sounds great to me. With that I found out at the other end where parking is better there is a shelter which I figured could be our mess tent if not taken but want to see if the are is suitable for hammocks first. This is the Beaver Run Shallow water Impoundment area on the map .

Ok too give you an Idea of the hike for those who look at the map PDF on first page of posts the plan is to stay night one at the BRI then going south on the east cross connector trail approx 2 miles to the bridge trail going SW to the Mosquito Creek trail going NW back up to the Quhenna Highway What I am looking to do is to camp along the Mosquito creek at Bridge trail right before the game lands for second night which will be about 5-6 miles in from first night leaving us about the same for sunday out. will have better idea in january . So any other thoughts or wishes anyone else like the idea on first night group dinner ?

Since last weekend's Hang at the Delaware Water Gap was so much fun with 18F the first night and HEAVY freezing rain Sunday morning, this Feb. hang is something I really want to make. Unless the snow is impossibly deep and/or the roads are a mess, I will make the approx. 6 hour - 300 mile drive.

The long drives just kill me anymore; so, may get a room at the Benezette Hotel Thursday (02/17). I've been up there before in the Summers. That way, I will be rested and have most of Friday to wander over and find the trail head / meet-up spot.
    Happy Trails,
    J.D.

I never drink water. I'm afraid it will become habit-forming.
