Nice...thank you....cold river sections were really beautiful for certain....didn't expect wanika falls at the end though either....just happened upon it really.
Went up the trail to the base of it and there's a small falls so I was getting water and I look up stream and see through the trees what looks like a skyscraper ....I'm like ...ok.....what's that?....checked it out further up ....and it was a falls at least 500ft if not higher....blew my mind.
beautiful pool for swimming at the bottom.
Cant wait to go back there again ASAP.
The bridge project looks cool as well thanks for thinking of me man...hopefully I can get some time off and help out a little.
Some of the blow down spots were pretty bad.
Its a shame that all happened and left it in its current state in those sections....I consider the NPT one of the best things about NY...besides the pizza.
Cool pics, brings back some memories. I kayaked from Long Lake to Tupper lake a few years ago. It is beautiful up there.
I wouldn't use a packraft, would be WAY to slow on the open water...and Long Lake really is LONG! This was years ago when I had a short(ish) 12' kayak and I almost killed myself on the trip – it was WAY too much effort to paddle something that short with that much gear in it. I think I could barely top 2.5 MPH on the water paddling as fast as I could, and the trip took us an entire extra day because of that (ok, and my brother being super-lazy on the trip as well
My new 14'6" touring kayak is just the ticket for a trip like this.
Most excellent! A fun fun, special place!

Everything looks so lush & green, with lot's of animals & insects to catch your eye along the way.
Mountain views are good for the soul....& getting to them is good for my waistline.
