    Why use a ring for a drip ring? When a piece of cotton like a shoe string piece, works great as a drip line and weighs less? What is the purpose of the ring?

    I was thinking the ring might work better, but maybe not.

    i did a ring mod to my HH SAFARI DELUXE where i made a short jumper w/ a SS RING on it

    the snake skins bunch up on the jumper, between the ring & the hammock

    i attach the WHOOPSIES to the ring, so they can be easily removed when wet, so the dryish hammock can be packed w/o the wet suspension

    just a different slant to your original Q
