    Full UQ packed size comparison

I got my Universal IX UQ today! There were some recent questions about some of the quilts, so I figured Id take the opportunity to show pics of the full UQ's we have so you can see how they looked compared to other full quilts in packed size.

The small blue one is the ENO doublenest that i used for size comparison since many have this. All are full length UQs. White: Universal IX UQ, Black: Stormcrow Incubator Orange: AHE New River

For us newbs, maybe put the effective ratings for each one of those so we can compare and contrast size, vs weight, vs temp ratings?

Someone on the fourm created a Vendor Quilt Table, that had all the specifics of quilts on the market as of a few months ago... for some reason I cant attach it to this post, maybe some one else can?

He might have been asking what the temp rating of your Incubator was also. If not, then disregard this.

I believe Harpo63 has a winter version with 16oz of 900 down. Approximately 1.78oz per chamber (9 chambers). The effective range for this quilt is approximately 0°F. His is almost the newest version. It has the same form fitting cut that I am using right now but I believe he has 3.5" baffles that loft up to over 4.5". I have been playing with baffle heights so in the newest ones (the last few weeks) I have started using 4" baffles that loft out to over 5". There is enough overstuff with the 16oz that there is still little to no shifting and it is filling the loft up quite nicely. I am going to keep the temp rating the same for now though. I am looking forward to some new winter temps for testing!

I know he has the newest version but I can not remember if his stuff sack was a little over sized or not. I usually lean toward slightly over sized stuff sacks due to my style of packing my backpack.

On another note that is completely unrelated.... I just found out that if you hold the ALT key down while typing the number 0176 You can make that "Degree symbol". That one ---> ° It is kind of a nice thing for someone like me to know...I'm not sure why it took me so long to find it...

Ah, thanks for clearing it up! Note that all the quilts could be squished down a wee bit smaller if they all had a smaller stuff sack like the doublenest, but like Adam said, being a little larger allows the bag to be more flexible and fit better in your pack. BUT if I had put a sleeping bag there for comparison, the AHE would not look so huge afterall!
