Was in the area last weekend and it was windy during the day on Sat. and the weather was already quite warm. Such a difference from Jax. Cant wait to get the yak out in the no motor zone.

Is there interest in a community meal one or more of the days? Any suggestions? Requests?
This hang will take place after daylight saving time begins. Sunset is will be near 7:30 p.m., allowing enough time to gather a few clams before dinner if there is interest.
I am a no-go. I have work that weekend =C I look forward to seeing the pictures though.
YakDave is a serious kayaker on Green Wave Forum. Here's a link to an excellent trip report he did last March on the very sites where we're going to be hanging (hopefully). Complete with pictures! How cool is that?! Thanks YakDave!

P.S. to YakDave: If you somehow wander onto this forum, and read this thread - please consider this a personal invitation to join us on this hang and maybe we can introduce you to the world of hammocking. There could be a fresh clambake in it for you.

So many trees, so little time...
It was this report that eliminated for me the use of Campsites 4 and 5 when I began planning this trip. I think there are a lot of folks who paddle over and party for the day from the nearby JB's Fish Camp.
Homestead Island is the second site on Orange Island and marked as Campsite 2. It has all the conveniences YakDave of GreenWave Forums wrote about for Orange Island (site 1) but more trees and less underbrush.

We survived the Roan Mountain Hang so now I'm looking very much forward to the drastic change in scenery the Canaveral Hang will offer! Even if it is in the 30s it will feel warm!
I'm thinking that by then it would be rare, freakish weather to see temps in the 30's, but then..it is Florida, anything is possible.
Average high in March is around 78 degrees. Average low is 56. Combine those temps with a gentle breeze from the ocean and it should feel just about perfect.
