moski, I am like this in real life. That is why I don't do computer games or watch TV, my real life is far more strange.

To get back on topic, anyone else gotten their WB hammock yet?

hey guys, i'm still sewing away. i had to wait on some fabric for the reinforcement patches, so i had to go out of turn a bit and make some other items, then i came down with a bit of a cold so i didn't get much done this weekend, but i'm back on track today. just finished grizz's hammock earlier and working on cavedivers. i'm hoping to be done with all the orders i have now by the middle to end of next week. i will have to take a day or so off somewhere though, the aspens are nice and yellow now, so i should probably go to the mountains and take some website pics before all the leaves fall off, and i've got to drive to denver to talk to a lady about making me some inventory. things are going slower than i thought they would, but not by too much.

Hold off on mine, then. Don't plan on shipping it till the first week of Nov. I'll arrange payment before I leave if you PM me the details.

for some reason, i can't edit the origional post.

i am changing the superfly design a little bit i think (i'm never satisfied). i'm doing a rolled hem on the doors instead of the trim. this removes an ounce, and using blue sil removes another ounce.

here's what the new weight will be.

black sf from origional post 25.5
    new black sf 24.6
    new blue sf 23.5

    stuffsac included in weight

edit to add - I added the changes to the original post for you. - angrysparrow

I'm sure the Blackbirds will be worth the wait no matter what. I'm just happy to be able to try one and support an innovative hammock maker.

Just how popular did this pre-order get?
How many orders of Blackbirds did you get?

I'm just curious how many wanted a different looking hammock.

s'ok, when I have my Warbonnet I won't let you try it out. You will have to just be jealous from the sidelines.

    Ewker:

Or go to Warbonnetguy's post above and check his gallery. Its a new hammock he's making and selling. One that you won't get to actually touch or lay in (at least mine...).

You also _could_ read the entire thread...

I don't know why, but these pics look like the young lady and hammock is cut off at knee length! Optical illusion, no doubt.

But what are the selling points of this hammock? Is any body yet able to comment on the comfort compared to others? What about WBG, can you give us a comparison? I'm trying to figure out if there is a reason to order one of these other than just having one of the few hammocks I have not tried! Is there some obvious advantage to it other than the neat shelf ( or disadvantage?)?

And is there any word on insulation for the UQ? Doesn't Ace/Thru-hiker still advertise available XP2.5 and other weights, as well as combat?
