Surely someone out there is willing to take this on for the benefit of all. If you need a "How to" in order to get through it, I'll print up an instruction sheet.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to contribute or thinks they might want to assist with planning next year.

    Stovemaking

If there is an interest, we can have a session on Saturday after lunch to make pressurized alcohol stoves. You will leave with a hot little stove.

I will provide the blanks (cleaned up aluminum bottles) and tools.
You provide the fuel. Denatured alcohol (Lowes or Home Depot) or Heet, Yellow NOT Red bottle (Walmart) will be fine. Work gloves are not required but are always a good idea.

If anyone would like to help lead this, please PM me.
This activity would be great for a kid who you know is okay with tools & fire but of course a parent has to be there too.

I wish I could attend the stove making class but I will be on the river with itsandy.
But I have something to contribute... Last year Jason in Tn did some testing on the Lowes Denatured alcohol (Crown) and it did not burn that well, he had problems with it smoking and not burning hot enough. We discovered it isn't a 50/50 mix of ethanol/methanol like the one sold at Walmart (SLX) which did the best. Heet beeing 99% methanol works fine but has a little less BTUs than alcohol but seems to ignight better in very cold conditions. And of course price per ounce the LTX is the best value over Heet.
Here is info from Jim Wood's wesite on his fuel testing and it will lead you to Zen Stoves website for his, very similar assesment too.

    Awesome! Bring'em!
The bottles I have are a bit heavier so some folks might prefer the Bud Light bottles.
'Course I would never admit to drinking that shhhtuff, but it's good that Bud Light can contribute something to the betterment of mankind. They say that beer is proof that God loves us. I guess Bud Light proves that he doesn't love some as much as others.
