My wife pushes her TQ off in the middle of the night and then calls guess who to figure out why she is cold. I got a Black Bird, gave her the HH and zipped her in. That works pretty well.

The mesh triangle in the foot end is an idea I might try sometime.

tq's that are competitively sized are sometimes too small. i have no issues with my giant tq, a marmot sawtooth extra wide extra long sleeping bag. i cant imagine sleeping with anything else.

it seems this triangle method could possibly lead to down compresion??

My youngest used to do that. He was using a DIY TQ with a drawstring footbox. After cinching the footbox, I tied the extra cord to the support at the end of the hammock. That kept it pretty much where it needed to be, and it was no-cost and no added weight.

Maybe also look into a hammock sock.

I have done the same, except I clip it with an s-biner to a foot end ridgeline prussick.

I'm actually struggling with this right now. I've now used two different top quilts and at least 3-4 times a night I wake up with the top quilt either under me, or at my feet in a giant ball. I'm actually considering selling mine because I just can't seem to get it to work.

of course as my lady kindly pointed out, it should be no surprise to me. I thrash more than a pig on ice in my sleep. Or so I'm told

Me too. If that doesn't work, you could always do like I'm planning for my daughter's first date: I'm sure his pants will be too baggy, and to prevent them from accidentally falling down, I'll use my staple gun...

A nail gun is much more effective. I also used the line, "I have a gun and a shovel and you won't be missed." My daughter just got married. sigh!
