    SOLD: Speer WT

New/Never Used (Black) Speer Winter Tarp with Stuffsack.

Only use it has seen is being inspected by me. It comes with the speer stuff sack but does not come with any guylines.

Also, there are no grommets on the ridgeline pulltabs because I requested them not to be put on so that I wouldnt have to worry about any chance of grommet problems.

There are some pics I uploaded to my gallery.

$100 shipped Via USPS w/ DC to CONUS and confirmed address. Paypal only.
    Insurance Extra.

    PM me or Post.

    Thanks. Questions always welcome.

Just to clarify, this is not diy dyed or colored with a marker or anything. The tarp was bought black. I also lowered the price to 100 shipped. If it doesn't sell fot that Ill keep it and repost it aftet the speer sale is over...

    Well, I wouldn't take a C-note for my SWT.

I'm a newbie and have just ordered my first hammock (a blackbird double 1.1). I'm pretty sure I want a SWT, but I have a couple of questions about your post. What are the grommets on the ridgeline pulltabs for, and what are the problems that you feared when you ordered this tarp without them?

Grommets are normally attached to the ridgeline pulltabs on the SWT so that you can pitch it with hiking poles on the ground. I chose not to have them put on because I was never going to use on the ground and also you could just use at knot to attach it to hiking poles anyway. I had heard that grommets can come loose when wet because of stretching nylon so I opted against grommets on the ridgeline pulltabs.

That must be something new that Ed has done. Mine doesn't have them at all.

Huh. I really dont know. The tarp he had on his website as an example had them and I just asked that he not put them on mine when I ordered it.

I think you are confusing D-rings with grommets?

    a black speer WT?
man, I'd be all over this if I didn't just get a black OES tarp.
I even called ed to ask about other colors when I was doing the research thing and he only had grey, so I went with Brian
People, if you need/want a winter tarp, this is a special offer!

Yeah really, if I didn't already have one ( a way cool BROWN SWT) I'd be all over this one. Another consideration, Brian posted the other day that sil appears to have nearly twice the tensile strength as spinnaker. That is a serious consideration for a cold/foul weather tarp.
