DIY hammock and bug net in a few hours [PICS]!

Just finished up this hammock and bug net for my girlfriend in a few hours today. The hammock is made from 1.9oz (or whatever the weight from Joann fabrics) lime green ripstop. The fabric was on sale 60% off this weekend! The hammock is 10' long and 58" wide. The suspension is 7/64" Amstel whoopie slings with an adjustable zing-it whoopie ridgeline.

The bug net was made from 2 black sheer window panels from WallyWorld which cost $4.87/panel. I tapered one end and created a drawstring channel on the other.

This is the first hammock and bug net I have made and it all stuffs down into one double ended stuff sack.

    Thanks!

Very nice! I like the finish on the tapered end, it looks snazzy.

    Cheers

Fascinating easy, useful and nicely done. Would like to know how weighty this is.

When I saw that i had at once the following idea. You could still make a winter sock in a lime green color with two no-see-um mesh eyes (as vents). Could look very enterprising and funny.

Yea it's not the lightest setup of the bunch that's for sure. It weighs exactly 1.5lbs on the scale with the hammock, bugnet, suspension, and stuff sack. I do like the idea for the winter sock!

Much appreciated. I just saw your post on the other thread about making a bugnet from the sheer curtains... Hope it turns out nicely for ya!
