Hammock Bargain Alert!!
My best gear would be a Hennessy Explorer Zip Hammock. Great design and workmanship.
If you are interested, they are being sold 2 for 1 with two snakeskins until christmas online.
Cooking, I like a good aluminum dutch oven. Nothing like cooking a good stew on cold nights.
A new Jet boil for pre-packaged food. It is great for just boiling water and using on bagged de-hydrated food. If you need control or want to cook food with it, you'd be better served with a different unit.
Time to chime in....
OK, I wanted to have one more weekend in the wilderness, before I put this all together. I am new to hammocking, so my list is hammock heavy, so I do have a few items which are weight oriented.
1) Hammock!!! In my case a Grand Trunk Skeeter Beeter Pro. This has turned my camping experience upsidedown.
2) Hammock Gear 3-Season Incubator. Though I have only used this one weekend, it kept me warm and snug in the low 30s! At under 24 oz, I love this underquilt.
3) Coozie for Nalgene (diy). Using this for hot water to bring into the hammock is the BOMB! No more cold nights for me
a) Suspension--whoopies and straps with toggles.
b) Merrell Moab Ventilator Mid hiking boots--very light and comfortable
c) Noah's Tarp--a little heavy but a bargin tarp for the coverage

#3 UQ Triangle Thingies from Paul @ Arrowhead Equipment. They keep my quilts in place.
