Your pics are very nice to watch! Great to see you and your son with a backpack in nature. And guiding him to connect with some universal values of being.

53 miles in 5 days...10 yrs old!!!
You inspire me. Trying to get my skills up enough to take my boys back country.
Thanks SOOOO much for posting!
I can hear your pride
It very much reminds me of Balls and Sunshine.
Sunshine is 13 years old and on the final leg of being the youngest triple crowner. They are now in Montana.
I met them on the AT last year and hike with them through the Dragon's Tooth area. She was ONE STRONG HIKER!!
I just love seeing kids on the trail taking responsibility for their own being.
Makes for strong people
Thanks again for sharing.
In some mysterious way woods have never
seemed to me to be static things.
In physical terms, I move through them;
yet in metaphysical ones,
they seem to move through me. -

That's a great thing to do with your son, and he looks mighty happy in all those pictures.

That is AWESOME! I was eight when my uncle threw that bright orange external frame pack on me and brought me out in Olympic National Park.....been hooked ever since.
