What under quilts seem to fit better for the warbonnet XLC. Is do it yourself under quilt the best way to go for a good fit? Camping outside in Alaska and for artic survival.

if i were going to hammock in the artic, i'd buy a -20F UQ A N D -20f TQ. and bring wool blankets and grabber space blankets and build a peapod shelter and.....you know, i'd just stay home and turn the heat off lol. seriously, underground quilts (dot) com has excellent down gear, and though im a maker of stuff, im not any sort of knowledgeable on arctic survival. i wanna be able to hammock in the 30Fish areas of colorado; i've never actaully spent a night in a hammock in the freezing wildernesses anywhere. thats definitely something i'd like to experience one day, but i don't know how truly brave i am. arrowhead equipment (dot) com has an amazing array of stuff for hammock quilts. they have this thing they call a triangle thingy that changes the angle of the UQ suspension for a better fit on any/all gathered end hammocks. i'm looking to amke that $20 purchase myself, actually. i have a (crudely drawn) diagram of my own personal Poncho Liner Under Quilt (pluq) but it's been scrapped and redesigned to be better and i'm not certain how much motivation i have to create another (terrible) mspaint drawing since its exactly the same, with an updated poncho liner (one thats actually square instead of whatever weird hexagon the viet nanm era one is) a grabber space blanket, some shock cord and cord locks. ill detail it, even though its only good for like 50F:lay the poncho liner down flat (i have a rothco one, works great, $40), feed shock cord through short side to gather the ends up to the hammock. sew on grosgrain loop in center of short side for suspension. lay the grabber space blanket on it. fold in half. tie corners together, tie shock cord to corners and loop through grosgrain with cord lock (prussics don't work nearly at all with shock cord) that shock cord through the channels will have two ends stickin out, tie'em together at the desired scrunchieness (i don't have a word for whatever the hell happens when you scrunch the ends up to you). that scrunchieness is explained better in a video for a uq at arrowhead equipment dot com, the video you find for the kaq quilts (AHE designation) gave me the idea. i think it was the jarbidge uq. i don't own a warbonnet xlc, so i have no good answer for that half of your question, but the guys at AHE will be happy to help. hell, paul gibson is the owner/operator, and he'll probably get with you pretty swiftly if you send him a private message. he's great about questions, even questions that won't make him a buck.
