Also where the image shows the tree end having the strap run through the loop. I dont do that. You could but what I do is I clip a Camp Nano Biner in the loop. I wrap the strap around the tree twice and clip. It's quick and easy. I leave everything attached to my Treklight Double and it all stores in the stuff sack that came sewn on the hammock. with 15' of straps on each end it weighs just a few grams over 1 kg or just under 2 1/4 lbs.

Sorry been a very long time since I've visited the forum. Sorry to leave you hanging, lol. That's what I was doing! Well, a fellow member made me a prototype set of these after I made this design. I dont know what they are made of. But I will tell you I'm still using em. I weigh 400 lbs and I've lost about 100 lbs since then, they hold my arse! so I dont know what they are rated for but they'll definitely do. They do have one hiccup but I dont really see it as a down side. They dont easily adjust so once you set your straps they are set. They dont slip. But if you want to adjust them to fine tune them you will need both hands. Not really an issue!

    Mahem,

Stumbled on this picture and thought these buckles are cooler than a Marlin Spike Hitch!!

Where do you get them and what is the weight rating?

    Thanks,

This is the Lightest way to use the buckle. Other options would be to use a carabiner on the tree end instead of passing itself through the loop. Also an alternative to having an adjustable buckle would be to sew the buckle in a permanent location.
