First DIY hammock I made. Have since made a second for my wife. Found it fairly easy. More than that the satisfaction of having made your own gear! Plenty of instructions and videos online to get ideas. Used nylon rip stop for the hammock. Found an idea to use shear curtains for the bug net, which I have been really happy with! Used shock cord to pull the bottom of it together to seal under the hammock while in it. Instead of an under quilt, I found a lightweight mummy style sleeping bag and made a pea pod out of it. Haven't had a chance to try it out in the woods yet but can't wait. By the way, this will be my first time hammock camping.
