I used your plans to make mine, see photos, and one idea I had but did not put to test was when applying the corner reinforcements, the problem is the two pieces tend to float and there is some puckering. Drove me crazy trying to sew it. One method I will try on my next tarp will be to spray some 3M spray adhesive and actually glue the reinforcement flat to the tarp material and see if it holds. If it does, it should make a much smoother patch.
